What is Partial Solar Eclipse?

Partial Solar Eclipse occurs when the Moon comes between the Sun and the Earth, but does not cover the Sun completely. Due to this, only a part of the sun comes in shadow and the rest remains visible. Looking at it, it seems as if a corner of the sun has been cut off. This eclipse occurs when the outer part of the Moon’s shadow, called the “penumbra”, falls on the Earth.

Partial solar eclipse is not visible in the entire eclipse area, but only in some specific areas. Seeing it with naked eyes can cause damage to the eyes, hence it is necessary to use special solar filters. This eclipse is more common than other eclipses.
