Mobile Manufacture in india: Just waiting for some time! Since then, all kinds of mobile phones will be manufactured on Indian soil. As a result, they no longer have to be imported from abroad.
At least that’s what a report published in the Economic Times claims. Citing the concerned officials who did not want to be named, the report said that mobile production in India has already increased significantly. Due to which the amount of mobiles imported from abroad has decreased significantly compared to before.
Note that since last week, Apple has started manufacturing their iPhone Pro and Pro Max in India. Also, Google is also manufacturing their Pixel 8 here.
On the other hand, Samsung is also manufacturing all their components in India. Which includes premium models like the S24.
Chinese mobile manufacturers
like Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, Realme are also now manufacturing their products in India. Also, there are Indian companies like Lava, Micromax. Who continue to produce mobiles in the country as a whole.
In this context, India has decided to move further towards self-reliance in mobile manufacturing, the related report claims.
According to the data, 99 percent of the mobile phones being sold in India are being manufactured in this country. The remaining 1 percent production will also be done here in the coming days.
The related report also claimed that an official familiar with the mobile phone business said that by the end of the financial year 2024-25, the volume of mobile phone imports in India will come down to 0.25 percent.
Not only that. It is said that only 3 percent of the amount of smartphones bought and sold in India till the financial year 2023-24, in terms of price, was spent on smartphones imported from abroad. This list of imported smartphones mainly includes – iPhone Pro and different models of Google Pixel. which are already manufactured in India.
India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) chairman Pankaj Mahindru was quoted in the related report as saying, ‘But we will not stop after becoming 100 percent self-reliant in mobile manufacturing. Our goal is to produce $500 billion worth of electronic products. Our objective is to capture the international market. So that in the coming days India can catch everyone’s attention as the cheapest producer of electronic equipment.’
