Internet Users in India: New guidelines have been issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in India. The directive states that the war situation between India and Pakistan has been created in the context of what India’s Internet users (online safety) do, what not to do. Tensions have increased between India and Pakistan since the operation sindoor. And the Internet users have been asked to adhere to responsible online behavior in the X handle and to avoid any fake information.
The Ministry of Information Technology has published a detailed list of what can be done and what cannot be done. The ministry has been requested to be careful and responsible for users. In this post, the Ministry of Information Technology says in the X -handle, ‘Important online security alert must be followed, cyber security standard should be kept in mind. In advance warning is important. Be careful when using the Internet, do not get into any trap, do not suffer from fake information. Be patriotic, be careful, be safe. ‘ This post was added to the hashtag of Digital India and Operation Sindur.
The Ministry of Information Technology has directed to comply with several important points as a precautionary warning of cyber security.
What can be done?
Official guidelines, helpline numbers, rescue or relief updates can be shared.
Fact-Check News can be shared from the official source.
Fake news must be reported immediately.
What can’t be done?
Army activities cannot be shared.
No information can be shared without verification.
Violence and communal harassment cannot be made in the media that can incite it.
The Ministry of Information Technology has also said that only information can be reported in WhatsApp (122) or Emmel (socialmedia@pib.gov.in).
OTTs point to channels
All OTT platforms have also been issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Media Streaming Services must follow this guideline. The directive from the ministry states that all OTT platforms will currently have to remove all the web series, movies, songs, podcasts for national security, which is somehow connected to Pakistan or in Pakistan.
