iPhone 16 Banned: The iPhone 16 is a worldwide frenzy. There is a lot of talk about the new version of the iPhone. However, if you take iPhone 16 (iPhone 16 Banned) in this country, you will have to face difficult problems. The government of this country has declared buying and selling and using iPhone completely illegal. The name of the country is Indonesia. Recently, Indonesia’s Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said on Tuesday that the use of iPhone 16 is completely illegal in Indonesia, and a warning has been issued to prevent customers from buying this phone from abroad.
iPhone 16 has been banned in Indonesia
Indonesia’s industry minister said that if anyone is using the iPhone 16 anywhere in the country, it is completely illegal. The government should report the use of this iPhone to the responsible officer and the police immediately. He even stated that no International Mobile Equipment Identity Certification for this iPhone 16 will be approved in Indonesia.
Why the ban?
The main reason for this ban is Apple’s incomplete investment commitments in Indonesia. That is, the tech giant Apple once promised to invest a total of 1.71 trillion rupiah in Indonesia, of which 1.48 trillion rupiah was invested only by the company. 230 billion rupees is still left. The Industries Minister has made it clear that he may still approve the iPhone 16, but Apple’s investment remains largely in the country. Earlier in the beginning of the month, the minister said that more investment is expected to come from Apple, as a result of which the TKDN certification process has not yet been completed. So now iPhone 16 cannot be sold in the country.
Basically, this TKDN certification is a domestic component level certification through which the company will need a minimum of 40 percent local content value to sell Apple products in Indonesia. This certification is directly linked to the research and development process that Apple has promised to start in Indonesia. Apple Academics was supposed to be developed in the country.
