Infinix HOT 30 5G smartphone was launched in India on Friday, July 14. The smartphone has been introduced in the budget segment. The smartphone is the successor to the HOT 20 5G launched last year and brings some upgrades over it.
The company has provided the recently launched MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC in the new smartphone, which is also present in the recently launched Realme Narzo 60 5G smartphone in the sub-Rs 30,000 category.

Infinix HOT 30 5G Starting with the design, an attempt has been made to give the new phone a more premium look as compared to the previous model. In this, the edges are slightly less curved than the previous model and the camera module has been given a glass finish. The company says that it has a glass finish design and the frame is equipped with chrome finish. The major change on the front of the HOT 30 5G compared to the waterdrop style notch present on the HOT 20 is the presence of a hole-punch cutout.
Weighing in at 215 grams, the smartphone feels a bit heavy in comparison. At the same time, with a thickness of 9.9mm, it is also thicker than some of its bigger competitors in the market. This is slightly more than the 8.9mm thickness of the HOT 20 5G. At the same time, its thickness is also less than the previous model, 7.8mm. The frame is flat and the edges are slightly rounded, which makes for a slightly better in-hand feel. The top and side bezels are thinner and the chin is also slightly lower than the previous model. The smartphone comes in two color options and the company has sent us the Aurora Blue color variant for review, which looks like a frosted glass finish with glitter. Its special thing is that when the light falls on the back panel at different angles, you can see colored lines. At the same time, you also have a Knight Black color option.
Infinix HOT 30 5G has a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack and a microphone along with a speaker grill at the bottom. The right side of the phone includes volume rockers and a power button, which is equipped with a fingerprint sensor. All these buttons are easy to reach when using the phone with one hand. There is a secondary speaker on the top frame, which along with the speaker at the bottom provides good sound output. A triple slot tray is available on the left side of the frame, in which a microSD card can be inserted along with two SIMs.

HOT 30 5G comes with a 6.38-inch full-HD+ IPS display, which supports 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 580 nits peak brightness. There is a hole-punch cutout in the top center of the display. The camera supports face unlock. Additionally, the smartphone has received Widevine L1 certification, which means it should support HDR content on most content streaming apps. The company says that it has been provided with DRE (Dark Region Enhancement) feature, which will make it easier to read text on the display even in sunlight. HOT 30 5G has MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC built on 7nm process, which is being given in upcoming mid-range smartphones these days. The smartphone works on XOS 13 version based on Android 13. On first boot, we saw a lot of bloatware, which included some of the company’s native apps along with third-party apps like Facebook, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Snapchat, Spotify, WPS Office, etc. However, these can be easily uninstalled.
The smartphone has a 50-megapixel dual-camera setup equipped with AI. In this, each sensor is fitted in a large ring shaped housing and on its side there is a flash module with quad LED. The phone has an 8 megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling etc. There is also a dual LED flash on the front, which is fitted behind the top bezel, due to which it is not visible. Compared to the HOT 20 5G, the battery capacity in the new handset has been increased from 5,000mAh to 6,000mAh. However, the supported charging output remains the same at 18W as before. Infinix claims that the phone is capable of providing 53 hours of calling or 21 hours of video streaming or 13 hours of gaming or 35 days of standby time on a full charge.
The smartphone comes equipped with NFC support, storage expansion up to 1TB, dual-band Wi-Fi, IP53 rating, DTS technology, ambient light sensor, e-compass, G-sensor, gyroscope and proximity sensor, etc.

Infinix HOT 30 5G has been launched in two RAM and storage options. The base variant comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, which is priced at Rs 12,499 and the top model includes 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, which is priced at Rs 13,499. We have the 8GB RAM variant for review. The phone comes in Aurora Blue and Night Black color options and will be available for purchase via Flipkart from July 18.
The new handset has been launched at almost the same price at which HOT 20 5G was launched. There are certainly some upgrades seen in the new handset compared to the previous model.
