Gaganyaan Mission: Work is being done rapidly to make the country’s first human space mission ‘Gaganyaan’ successful. Earlier this year, the Indian government had revealed the names of the four astronauts who will fly to space under this mission. Now Union Minister Jitendra Singh has told in the Lok Sabha that one of the astronauts undergoing training for the mission will be sent to the International Space Station (ISS) with the mission of the American space agency NASA.

According to PTI language report, Singh said in a written reply to a question that NASA has identified the private company Axiom Space. ISRO has signed an agreement with the American company for the International Space Station (ISS).

During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to America last year, US President Joe. Biden had announced that India and the US are collaborating to send an Indian astronaut to the ISS in 2024.

India has selected four passengers from the group of Indian Air Force pilots for the Gaganyaan mission. Gaganyaan mission is to be launched next year. Singh said that all Indian astronauts have taken basic training in Russia. Presently these passengers are taking training at ISRO’s center in Bangalore.

The Gaganyaan project may have been delayed, but ISRO has not shown haste regarding this mission. The mission has been designed in such a way that it will be successful in the first attempt itself. If everything goes well, India will become the fourth country in the world after America, Russia and China to send humans into space.

What will Indian astronauts eat in space?

Crew members going on missions will have many food options. Six different menus are being prepared. Breakfast is expected to include light items like upma, poha, idli. There will be meat and veg biryani options for lunch, while dinner may include items like chapattis, vegetables and meat with gravy.
