Space agency NASA continues to provide amazing pictures of the universe to the people. Many times NASA also shares surprising photos of the Earth. The space agency shares these photos on its social media handles like X or Instagram. Now NASA has shown one such picture taken from the International Space Station (ISS) which is very surprising. Actually this photo is of a storm whose name is Hurricane Idalia.

NASA has shared the photo of Hurricane Idalia which arose in August last year. It looks very big in size from the space station. NASA scientists, while on the space station, observe and study the tornadoes and storms occurring on Earth. This helps scientists understand how climate change affects hurricanes. At the same time, we can learn from this how the population living on earth can better prepare for such storms in an ever-warming world.

In the photo shared by NASA, some part of the International Space Station (ISS) is also visible. This part can be seen on the left side. This big white circle seen in the photo is the Idalia storm. This photo captured by NASA is of August 23, 2023. Which was taken from the high definition camera installed on the space station. This storm is visible over the Gulf of Mexico. It was a Category 1 storm.

It was said about the Idalia storm that it had winds blowing at a speed of 140 kilometers per hour. It landed in the Big Band part of Florida. There is a time for such storms to occur in the West. According to Fox News, the season of hurricanes originating from the Atlantic begins on June 1. This continues till the end of the year with such severe storms often hitting the earth till 30th November.
