Digital Arrest: A woman from Ahmedabad is a victim of digital arrest. A 27-year-old woman from Naranpur recently complained to the police that she was robbed of Rs 5 lakh by an official of the central agency (Digital Arrest). He said that the fake CBI officer made him digitally arrested under the Narcotics and Narcotics Act (Cyber Scam). Not only that, the cyber fraudsters also forced the woman to be naked during the digital arrest.
Based on the FIR lodged with the Naranpura police, it is learned that on October 13, the woman received a call where the person on the other end of the phone claimed to be a courier worker, He said a parcel had arrived in the woman’s name containing three laptops, two phones and 150 grams of mephedrone and 1.5 kg of clothes which were being sent to Thailand in her name. The man asked the woman to contact the cyber crime department immediately.

Shortly after hanging up, the woman called the cybercrime helpline number. And then he got a WhatsApp call where the person on the other side claimed to be a police officer from the Delhi Cyber Crime Branch. The officer told the woman that her name was involved in a drug case, and asked her to join a video conference. It was then that he received a complaint message on his phone from Delhi Cybercrime, accusing him of drug trafficking and financial fraud.
As usual the woman was forced to join the video call out of fear, the CBI officer forced the woman to strip her clothes and show all the birthmarks in the video. He was forced to send all his savings to the police officer. And thus the woman was forced to transfer the account of Rs 4.92 lakh.
