Scientists around the world have been exploring the moons of the planets of our solar system for many years. One thing is common in all the discoveries and that is the discovery of water in these moons. Be it the search for water in Jupiter’s planet Europa or the hope of water in the distant Uranus’s moon Miranda. Recently scientists have believed that there may be an ocean hidden beneath the icy surface of Miranda. If this happens, it will change the perspective of searching for life on other planets.

Planetary scientist Tom Nordheim and his colleagues at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) observed the moon Miranda. research Have done. Researchers have suggested that Uranus’s small moon, Miranda, may once have had an ocean of liquid water deep beneath the surface after studying images taken from the Voyager 2 spacecraft.

The special thing is that the Voyager 2 spacecraft passed by Miranda in the year 1986. Then he took pictures of its southern hemisphere. Researchers came to know many things about Miranda Key in the pictures like – there are areas with rough slopes and potholes.

According to a TOI report, Miranda is about 300 miles wide. Its surface is quite interesting. There are deep valleys in it. There are high peaks and also strange patterns. This suggests that something different might have happened there in the past. It is also possible that there is a hidden ocean beneath its icy surface.

Miranda is located very far from our Sun and is extremely cold. Despite this, there may be an ocean in the middle of its surface. The reason for this is tidal heating. In this situation, friction is created in Miranda due to the gravity of Uranus and other nearby moons. It produces heat. It can keep an ocean so warm that water remains present in liquid form.

Although this is all theory. For solid evidence, space agencies will have to send missions to Miranda.
