When the Moon comes between the Earth and the Sun, a solar eclipse occurs. The eclipse that is going to occur today will be a total solar eclipse. There will be darkness in many cities of America for some time during the day. During the eclipse, when the Moon comes between the Earth and the Sun, the shadow formed on the Earth will be 185 kilometers wide.

Solar eclipse should not be viewed with naked eyes. Even using normal sunglasses is not enough for the eclipse. Specially made glasses should be used for the eclipse, which are of ISO 12312-2 international standard. One should not drive while wearing eclipse viewing glasses. This may cause difficulty in driving.
