Look and design

The build quality of Canvas Selfie 2 is quite good and the plastic used in it does not look cheaper. Micromax has used its U series design in this handset. The handset has a 5 -inch HD IPS display. The selfie camera has a 5 megapixel sensor and is present in the center above the display.
Capacitive buttons are provided for navigation which are backlit. Power buttons and volume rockers are in the right part. Micro-USB port and headphone sockets are present at the bottom. Its primary camera is also 5 megapixels. Perhaps the company has adopted this strategy to keep the price of the handset.
The handset has a 2000 mAh removable battery. There are two 3G SIM slots and microSD card slots in the rear.

The thickness of the Canvas Selfie 2 smartphone is 9 millimeters and is quite light. There is nothing spectacular in the look of the phone, but given the price, its build quality is quite good. We wondered why the company did not give LED flash with a selfie camera.
Specification and software
The smartphone has a 1 GB of RAM with a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT 6582 M chipset. Its inbuilt storage is 8 GB, of which 4.74 GB is available for the user. The handset does not support 4G, but both of you will get 3G support in SIM slots. Canvas Selfie 2 comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop. The company has also given several third-party apps with it, whose utility is questioned. You will also get the option to switch to Hindi language. Most third-party apps present in the handset can be uninstall.
Performance
Even though the device has 1 GB of RAM, the performance of Canvas Selfie 2 cannot be called weak. However, it takes time to load heavy games such as Dead Trigger 2 and many apps. Overall, the lollipop runs easily. Despite watching the video for a long time, the phone or its display is not very hot.

The touch response of the display and capacitive button is not excellent. We found that the handset was not giving proper response to the Vanatch input several times. Screen viewing angles are fine, but its brightness level is quite low. For this reason it was not easy to use the handset in sunlight. However, color reproductions are satisfactory.
We did not even have a network problem. The handset worked well on the 3G network. The call quality was good. The mono speaker present in the handset received a suitable sound.

Canvas Selfie 2 easily played our full-HD video. The headset that comes with the handset was comfortable in using, but its audio quality is not very good. We would suggest you to buy a new headset.
The performance of the front camera of Canvas selfie cannot be called satisfactory at all. We believe that Micromax could have more work on the selfie feature of this device. The 5 megapixel front camera does not have autofocus and flash is also not given. Due to these reasons, it becomes very difficult to use it in low light. However, the performance of the camera is good in the appropriate light.

The rear camera also comes with a 5 megapixel sensor, but it has autofocus. With this you will get modes like night and live photos. You can also use HDR mode. The camera interface is very basic and it is also very easy to use.

The 2000 mAh battery capacity looks slightly lower in terms of data, but due to a low resolution display it will easily last a day. In our video loop test, the phone lasted for 9 hours 7 minutes before switching off completely.
Our decision
Micromax Canvas Selfie is not the worst option in a price range of Rs 6,000. We believe that the company could have done better work with the handset’s selfie camera, especially when it is an attempt to sell it in the name of selfie. According to us, there should be autofocus sensor and flash in a selfie handset. Without these features, the handset becomes like another entry-level smartphone.

The build quality of Canvas Selfie 2 is good. It supports 3G on both SIMs. The handset runs on Android Lollipop and plays full-HD video easily. And its price is also not very high. However, the resolution of the display is low. Users cannot remove some third-party apps. Battery life is also average and the performance of selfie camera is not satisfactory.
If you can spend a little more money then we Meju M2 Will suggest to buy. It is a better handset. Along with having a 5 megapixel front camera, it also supports 4G LTE. And it has many features that do not present in the handset of Micromax.
