Look and design
There is a limit to use in terms of specification, so LEECo has tried to give premium material and good build quality in the budget smartphone segment. The LE1S has almost fully used metal. Plastic has been used only for antenna space.
The front face of this handset is quite slim. The black glass is on the four shore of the display. The front camera and sensor window are present on both sides of the earpiece. Three standard capacitive Android button are given below the screen. These are backlit. The LE1S manages to create a distinct identity.
The primary camera and flash are on one side of the rear part. There is also a fingerprint sensor at the center of the rear of the handset. It is good in appearance, but it slightly slipping. The company has not been able to work in India for its branding at the moment, perhaps that is why we got the review unit with LETV logo.
Power and volume buttons are on the right side. At the same time, the slot for both sim left. Type-C USB port downwards. Its disadvantage is that you will not be able to use the usually found USB cable with this handset.
Everyone will not like the gold color variant, but this is the only option on Flipkart at this time. Its grip is good in terms of phone with a 5.5 -inch screen, but it will have difficulty in using one hand. The LE1S weighs 169 grams, but despite using late, it does not feel the weight in the hands.
Specification and software
LEECO has shown confidence in MediaTek Helio X 10 (MT6795 T) for this handset. It is a powerful chip. 3 GB RAM is present to make multitasking easier. Sadly, 32 GB of storage cannot be increased through microSD card.
The resolution of the 5.5 -inch screen is 1080×1920 pixels, which is common in this price range today. There is a 13 -megapixel camera on the rear part and a 5 megapixel sensor on the front. The 3000 mAh battery is non-removable. Both will support SIM card slot 4G. It has Wi-Fi 802.11 AC, Bluetooth 4.1 and A-GPS connectivity features. You will not get FM radio.
The LE1S runs on the old Android 5.0.2 lollipop and the company’s EUI skin has been used on it. It has its own app drawer and does not have too much customization options. The most difficult is to be exposed to shortcuts and quick settings are given in the app switcher screen.
There are not many apps already loaded- you will get Yahoo Weather and My LETV. Software has many drawbacks. There is no gesture shot, nor can the screen area of its display be reduced by settings.
Performance
We enjoyed using LE1S on most occasions. It gives a good feeling in the hands, but its software experience did not live up to expectations. We are happy that the phone was not heated even after being used for a long time. A slight warmth can be realized in its rear part.
The screen indoor is quite bright, but not very usable in direct sunlight. Colors are sharp and the viewing angle will be called satisfactory. The speaker of the smartphone made it very happy.

Pictures taken from primary camera lacked details and suitable exposure, but on most occasions the photos came well. Close up shot came the best. Low light pictures were liked in the first glimpse, but the reality came to light on zoom. If you want to share the photo on social media only, then you will not have much problem.
MediaTek Helio X10 chipset gave good results in the benchmark test. It is so clear that this phone will run without any problem in terms of gaming.
The phone battery lasted 7 hours 51 minutes in the video loop test. It will be called average. The LE1S battery will last for a day. The good thing is that the handset has a quick charging feature.
Our decision
LEECO may have stepped into the Indian market late, but the beginning is fantastic. The company claims that it sold 70,000 units in just 2 seconds in the first flash cell. 6,00,000 people registered for this flash sale. More than 30 lakh units have been sold in just three months since this handset was launched in China. It is clear that there is no lack of handset demand.
This is a great time for Indian customers who have ‘money’ attitude. You get a good package with a powerful and spectacular specification. The biggest challenge to this handset is getting from 4 notes of Lenvo Vibe recently launched. This smartphone of Lenvo is a little weak in terms of specification, but you also have the option to buy VR headsets for entertainment. You can also consider Moto G (Gen 3), if you are looking for more durable and luxurious software than the look.
If you are ready to give a chance to the new company and want a phone with a premium look, then take this handset. However, keep in mind that even though you get a high-end smartphone device in terms of look and specification, it is not necessary that its performance is like high end handset.
