Apart from this, you will also get a fingerprint sensor in the back of the phone. Apart from this, you will get a removable battery in the phone which is usually not seen in any handset launched these days. Is Moto E6s a best budget smartphone? Let us know…
Moto E6s design
The design of Moto E6S is quite simple and basic. The border around the display is a bit thick and there is a notch at the top of the front panel. The volume and power buttons are on the right side of the phone. We liked the contrasting texture of the power button; a 3.5mm headphone jack will be found at the top of the phone. The laminated back and sides appear like two separate layers but are part of a single shell.
Moto E6s will be available in two color variants in India, Rich Carberry and Polished Graphite. Fingerprints easily appear on both the color variants. The red version of the Moto E6s comes with a dual-tone finish, which hides fingerprints on the device but does not remove smudges easily. Moto E6s has two SIM slots and a separate microSD card slot.
It is possible to expand the storage up to 512 GB with the help of microSD card. For your information, let us tell you that only Micro-SIM is installed in one SIM slot of Moto E6S. For security, a fingerprint sensor has been provided in the back of the phone which works properly. Moto logo will be found on the fingerprint sensor. The phone does not unlock quickly with the help of fingerprint sensor but its success rate is good.
Face recognition works well in sufficient light but in low light it does not work properly. The thing to note is that it is not much faster than the face unlock feature found in other budget smartphones but it works. There is a micro-USB port and a single loudspeaker at the bottom of the phone. The phone has a 6.1-inch full-HD+ (720×1560 pixels) OLED Max Vision display.
The display looked quite bright outdoors and the colors were also correct. The viewing angles of the phone are also good. The aspect ratio is 19.5:9, due to which the phone is big but it is not very wide, hence the grip of the phone was good in the hand. The Moto E6 is not very heavy as it weighs 150 grams and is 8.6 millimeters thick. In the retail box, you will get a USB cable, 10-watt charger, some manuals, case and nano-to-micro SIM adapter.
Moto E6s specifications and software
Octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor has been used in Moto E6S. Recall that the same processor is used in Realme C2 (review) and also happened in LG W30. Only one variant of Moto E6S has been launched in the Indian market which is equipped with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage.
Talking about other specifications of Moto E6s, the phone has Bluetooth version 4.2, single-band Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB-OTG, FM radio, support for three satellite navigation systems, accelerometer, ambient light sensor and proximity. Sensors are part of this phone. The thing to note is that there is no place for gyroscope or compass sensor in the phone.
Moto E6s runs on Android Pie and comes with stock interface. Moto E6s is not part of Google’s Android One program. FM Radio app, Moto Help and Motorola notifications will be available in the phone, with the help of these you can find the nearest Moto Hub store or service center. Apart from the digital well-being feature in the phone, there are also some gestures like double-tapping the power button turns on the camera.
Moto E6s performance and battery life
Talking about performance, Moto E6S is suitable for running apps and doing some multitasking. Navigating Android menus is fast but not fluid. Sometimes the UI animation becomes a bit slow. Due to the phone having 4 GB RAM, many apps run smoothly in the memory and the app load time was also not bad.
Games also ran well on the Moto E6s.
You will not get the best experience in the full version of PUBG Mobile. PUBG Mobile Lite still played better. After 30 minutes of gameplay, the phone did get a little warm, and the battery consumption was also 11 percent. Even after turning on the ‘BesLoudness’ sound enhancement option, the sound from the speaker does not come out very loud. The viewing angles of the display are good.
The 3,000 mAh battery brings life to the phone which lasts for almost the whole day. The phone lasted 12 hours and 22 minutes in our HD video battery loop test. If you do not use the phone continuously, the phone’s battery can last more than a day. The rapid charger that comes with the phone can charge the phone only 15 percent in half an hour and about 30 percent in an hour. It takes approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes for the phone to be fully charged.
Moto E6s cameras
Moto E6S has two rear cameras, a 13-megapixel primary sensor, its aperture is F/2.0 and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. An 8-megapixel front camera will be available for selfie and video calling. In the camera app, shooting mode and shutter buttons are provided at the bottom and buttons for different modes are provided at the top of the viewfinder. The Moto E6s also has AI scene detection which can be turned on or off.
Google Lens can also be used from the Camera app. Autofocus is not very fast so capturing fast-moving objects even when there is enough light is a challenge. HDR works well when shooting against light but the dynamic range is a bit limited. Details were captured well in close-up shots. Shots taken in daylight appear overexposed.
In Bokeh mode you will get a slider to adjust the level of background blur. A separate beauty shooting mode has been provided for smoothing the subject face, other shooting modes include video and panorama. In low light the camera finds it a little difficult to lock focus.
The details taken with the Moto E6S at night are not captured well and landscape shots look a bit grainy. Selfies taken from the front camera in daylight were average. The phone has HDR but it is not very useful. Selfies taken at night showed grain and lack of detail. Screen flash is also not very useful.
Video quality in daylight is also average and there is no electronic stabilization at 1080 resolution. In low light, the image quality lacked sharpness and details were not captured well.
our decision
Probably Moto E6S will be the only phone in this price which is equipped with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage which is quite good. Recently we have seen many such phones in this price segment which come with big batteries. Xiaomi’s Redmi 8A comes with Type-C port and fast charging support, and it also has a large battery.
The Moto E6s has a good display and the device has good RAM and storage for its price. If you do not mind low RAM and storage then in the market Realme 3i ,review) And Redmi 7 Like other better options also exist.
