Meta Blocks Facebook Account: It was recently reported that Meta had closed 25,000 Facebook accounts and pages. Originally such pages and accounts were done by fraud and criminal acts (Facebook account). And Indians were the victims of this crime. Moreover, several accounts were also targeted by Brazil users.
Meta said in a press release on Wednesday, May 7, “These types of frauds used dipfkes, using different technologies, as they used to preach themselves in such a way that they were a popular personal finance content creator and cricket player, big businessman in India and Brazil.
People who used to give these frauds were first redeemed on a messaging app platform where they were advised to invest. In some cases users were taken to some fake websites that look exactly like Google’s Play Store page. And from that fake website, they instructed them to download their gambling app.
Investment frauds are basically attracting people to some schemes that do not exist. All these accounts showed the temptation of becoming a billionaire by investing in cryptocurrency, real estate, shares. These accounts were given information about such ‘exclusive’ investment schemes on the media, in the email, or on the phone or any coaching group.
Tech Giant Meta has also closed several accounts for fraud allegations from the Facebook marketplace seller platform. Most of the time, such fraudsters would pay more money when buying a product, then refund wanted from the seller. And then the cellar was the victim of cyber fraud. Subject to all these frauds, Meta said, ‘Whenever you are asked to pay in advance when buying a product, you need to be careful. And such an account should be seen with doubt. ‘
The company has informed that Meta has recently implemented Facial Recognition Technology to prevent fraud using the faces of the stars. Meta platform has also been given the convenience of the Identity Verification for Account Recovery.
Even on behalf of the Meta, they are working with several agencies of the central government, such as telecom ministry, consumer ministry, Indian cyber crime co-ordination center, etc., and through this the expansion of meta digital literacy and warning online security through workshops.
