itel Color Pro 5G: price in India, specifications
itel Color Pro 5G price in India is Rs 9,999. The phone has been launched in only 6GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration. It is available for purchase in two color variants – Lavendary Fantasy and River Blue.
itel Color Pro 5G has a 6.6-inch HD+ display, which supports 90Hz refresh rate. IVCO (itel Vivid Color) technology has been used in it, due to which the color of its rear panel changes when the phone is taken in sunlight. It includes a 50-megapixel main rear camera. At the same time, an 8-megapixel shooter is available in the front. Color Pro 5G has a 5000mAh capacity battery, which supports 18W fast charging. It works on MediaTek Dimensity 6080 SoC. The RAM can be expanded virtually up to 6GB. Storage can also be expanded through microSD card. It currently comes with Android 13-based UI. The phone can be unlocked with a side mounted fingerprint scanner.

itel Color Pro 5G: design, display
itel Color Pro 5G has a plastic build. The back panel is textured, on which fingerprints are not visible. A color changing technology has been used in it, which itel calls IVCO (itel Vivid Color). This technology changes the color of the back panel to pink when exposed to sunlight or UV light. While this isn’t a practical feature, it’s a nice add-on to have at such a low price. With a weight of 190 grams, it may not be light, but the work of distributing the weight equally has been done well, due to which it does not feel too heavy in the hand. Same is the case with the build, where with 8mm thickness it appears slim.

There are relatively thick bezels around the display and a large chin at the bottom, but this was expected being a budget smartphone. The selfie camera is fitted inside the waterdrop-style notch. From the front it looks like a budget smartphone, but from the back its design will give you the feel of a mid-range device. Plastic material has also been used in the frame, on the right side of which there is a power button along with volume rockers, which is equipped with a fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone. Fingerprint was accurate and fast. The placement of all the buttons is correct, where I did not have to put much effort to reach them. There is a SIM tray in the left site, in which a microSD card can also be installed along with two SIMs. The frame has a Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a speaker grill with mic at the bottom. Overall, I liked the design of the itel Color 5G considering its price. The phone is thin, light yet sturdy and does not feel like an affordable phone in the hand.
Its 6.6-inch screen size is big enough to view content. However, here itel should have used FHD+ resolution instead of HD+. Still, I found the display performance to be above average when streaming online content. At some places I found the colors a little dull. Here you do not get the option to change the color settings, but you can change the color temperature to cool or warm. The panel supports refresh rate up to 90Hz, due to which smooth transitions appear while scrolling. In the refresh rate settings, there is also an auto adjust option available with 60Hz, 90Hz, which automatically changes the refresh rate to 60Hz and 90Hz according to the content playing on the screen. The peak brightness level of the Color Pro 5G’s display is not specified, but in my testing I found that it performed well indoors, but I struggled to view content in bright sunlight.

itel Color Pro 5G: Performance
In itel Color Pro 5G, you get the powerful power of MediaTek Dimensity 6080 SoC at a budget price. The chipset is also found in some popular mid-range smartphones in the market. Built on 6nm process, this octa-core processor handles everyday tasks with ease. App loading was fast and there was no lag in transitions even when running multiple apps simultaneously. It has 6GB physical RAM, which can be expanded up to 6GB virtually through memory fusion technology, after which you will have a total of 12GB RAM. I tested the phone without virtual RAM and during my entire testing I did not feel the need to use virtual RAM.
The Color Pro 5G achieved a score of 739 in the single-core test and 2053 in the multi-core test in the Geekbench tests conducted by me. At the same time, in AnTuTu benchmark testing it achieved a score of 434365. This is definitely a good score for a smartphone priced under Rs 10,000. However, the scores do not reflect the gaming performance of the smartphone. The Color Pro 5G is good for casual gaming, but as soon as I opened graphics intensive games like Call of Duty: Mobile and BGMI, the phone started struggling. Here even virtual RAM did not help me much. Although both these games ran smoothly in low settings, but at times I experienced huge frame drops, which spoiled the fun of multiplayer shooting games. However, I had no problems playing some graphics demanding games including Asphalt. The good thing is that the phone did not heat up even after about 1 hour of continuous gaming. Overall, the Color Pro 5G is not made for hardcore gamers, but if you are a casual gamer, it will not disappoint you.

itel Color Pro 5G: Camera
Itel Color Pro 5G has a dual rear camera setup, which includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor for depth. It also has quad LED flash in the back. The front includes an 8-megapixel sensor with dual LED flash for selfies and video calling.
In daylight, the main sensor captures above average quality photos. Sample photos were sharp, but background objects appeared to lack details. The good thing was that the colors came out natural in the pictures taken in daylight, but here too the consistency of the camera annoyed me a bit. In some lighting conditions, you may have to capture two to three shots to get the perfect picture. However, the photos were directly shareable on social media. At the same time, the dynamic range performance was a bit disappointing. In some shots the background was overexposed, while in others the highlights appeared to be suppressed, but this happened sometimes. The camera detected the edges of the subject well, resulting in natural Bokeh for most portrait shots. Macro mode may be missing in the setup, but here the phone has a 50MP camera mode, which captures photos in maximum resolution. I cropped these photos and got good macro shots with very little loss of detail.

The primary camera performs above average even in low light. Indoors, noise was visible in the viewfinder when taking photos, but the noise was removed with software processing after the shot was captured. However, this sometimes resulted in washouts of details from the photo. Dynamic range was not consistent in photos even in low-light. At the same time, the colors in the pictures were also over saturated. However, with basic editing the low-light photos were ready to go on Instagram.

If you are not happy with the night shots on the default mode or you are clicking pictures at a place filled with artificial light at night, you can use the Night mode, which enhances the dynamic range, details and sharpness in the photos. Makes good improvements.

Main camera with ‘Night mode’
Selfies taken in daylight turned out well. There was a natural tone on the face and there was no lack of details. Edge detection was also accurate in portrait mode. At the same time, shots taken with artificial light at night were also above average. If there is a lack of light, it is compensated by the dual LED front flash present in it. Shots can be improved to some extent with flash. Although, at times noise was captured in the shots, most of the shots were with good dynamic range. Night mode was not available in selfies.
Both front and rear camera sensors can record video at maximum 2K 30fps. Videos captured with daylight and indoor light were average. The video was not lacking in details, but the shots were quite shaky. Also, jitter was seen in the video captured through the viewfinder as well.
itel Color Pro 5G: Software, Battery
itel Color Pro 5G runs on itel OS 13 custom skin based on Android 13. On first boot I encountered a lot of bloatware, most of which could be removed. Within a short period of use, the native apps started spamming me with notifications. However, disabling some apps also solved this problem. Being a budget smartphone, I was expecting this. If you are already an itel smartphone user, then there is nothing new in the UI for you and even if you switch from another smartphone, it will not take you much time to adapt to its UI.
itel Color Pro 5G has a battery unit with 5000mAh capacity. The phone comfortably lasted about a day and a half with everyday tasks including social media scrolling, calling and content streaming. However, the competition in the budget segment lasts for about two days. In our HD video loop test, the Color Pro lasted about 17 hours and 36 minutes on a full charge, which is above average performance. It has 18W charging support and in the box you also get a charging brick of the same capacity. With this the phone was charged from zero to 38 percent in 30 minutes, 75 percent in one hour and 100 percent in 1 hour 47 minutes.

itel Color Pro 5G: should you buy it?
itel Color Pro 5G Priced at Rs 9,999, it is a good contender in this segment. In terms of design, its color changing panel makes it a little different from its competitors. In terms of performance too, it passed all my tests. Its large display is good for watching OTT content. At the same time, the camera setup is good for daylight photography. However, the battery backup disappointed me a bit. If you like some nice touches in a league-class design or you’re looking for a better option for entertainment, the itel Color Pro 5G might be the one for you. However, if you are looking for a better camera phone and also you like to watch content without earphones, then you can also look at the recently launched itel S24.
