On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi set an ambitious target for the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). He asked scientists to set up an Indian Space Center by 2035 and to send Indians to the moon by 2040. According to PTI report, ISRO chief S.K. Prime Minister Modi gave this instruction during the information being given by Somnath about the progress of Gaganyaan Mission. Significantly, ISRO is going to launch the first test flight on 21 October as part of the preparation of Gaganyaan Mission.

According to the report, the statement issued by the PMO after the meeting said that India’s mission to send astronauts for the first time in space is expected to be completed in the year 2025. This is called Mission Gaganyaan.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister prepared the future of India’s Space Missions and asked scientists to work on missions like Mangal Lander including Venus Orbiter Mission. A statement states that
The Prime Minister directed after the success of Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya L1 Mission that India should now set new targets including setting up ‘Indian Space Station’ by 2035 and sending the first Indian to the first Indian by 2040. The Space Department will prepare a blueprint to meet the goal.
