The other thing I noticed is the lack of a notch or hole-punch on the front panel. Motorola has opted for a pop-up module for the 16-megapixel selfie shooter. Because of this, you get a clean and large 6.5-inch full-HD+ display, which has thin bezels on the top and sides. This panel is HDR10 certified and has very good viewing angles. Motorola has added a powerful bottom-firing speaker to it, which will help in improving the video watching experience.
All the buttons are on the right side of the device and the Motorola One Fusion+ has a dedicated Google Assistant button just above the power and volume buttons. I would have liked if it were on the other side of the frame, which is empty, but this isn’t a concern as the buttons aren’t difficult to reach when using the device with one hand. The Motorola One Fusion+ has a USB Type-C port along with a 3.5mm audio jack at the bottom.
The Motorola One Fusion+ has a quad-camera setup on the back, similar to rivals. Its primary sensor is a 64-megapixel sensor with F/1.8 aperture. Apart from this, this setup comes with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with F/2.2 aperture, 5-megapixel macro camera with F/2.4 aperture and 2-megapixel depth sensor. There is also a fingerprint scanner with Motorola’s batwing logo on the back of the phone. The scanner is easy to access and I had no problems unlocking the phone with one hand.
Motorola has used Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset to power the Indian variant of this phone, while it is sold with Snapdragon 730 chipset in other countries. We expect the Motorola One Fuse+ to get better scores on graphics tests with this processor. It is offered with only one configuration option, which has 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. I like that many of the variants overlap other series, as Xiaomi Is with. Storage can be expanded up to 1 TB using the hybrid dual-SIM slot. The Motorola One Fusion+ is a dual-SIM smartphone with dual 4G LTE support. It comes with Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and GPS.
Motorola One Fusion+ runs on MY UX based on Android 10. The skin feels simple and light and looks like stock Android. Apart from a few pre-installed Google apps, the Motorola One Fusion+ has absolutely zero bloatware which is rare to see these days. Still, Motorola has added some useful gestures of its own, like a double-chop to turn on the flashlight and a double-twist to launch the camera app. The UI is very easy to navigate and I did not face any issues here. The Motorola One Fusion+ was running the April security patch, which is not the latest.
Motorola has priced One Fusion+ in India at Rs 16,999, which makes it Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, Poco X2 And Realme 6 Pro pits against. I think it’s going to be a close battle between all these devices.
