900 channels, coverage from North-set to Andaman
PIB’s Press release According to, with the introduction of GSAT-24 satellite, users will now be able to watch 900 TV channels on Tata Pla. These channels will be able to be seen from the hilly areas of Northeast India to the whole of India including Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Not only this, people will get to listen to better pictures and sounds than before.
What is GSAT-24 satellite
GSAT-24 is a 24-KU band communication satellite, weighing 4,180 kg. This DTH will give coverage across India to meet the needs of the application. The NSIL, which launched it, is the commercial branch of the country’s Space Agency ISRO. The satellite was last year launched by the Ariane 5 rocket operated by the French company ArianESPACE from Kaurau in French Guiana (South America).
The advantage of the channel being present on a satellite?
Tata Pla will benefit greatly by starting the use of GSAT-24 satellite. All the channels on air on his platform will be relay from this satellite. Earlier the channels were relay from different satellites and in many areas users could not see their favorite channels. Now people will get to see their favorite channels in every corner of the country.
Will the recharge cost increase?
According to Tata Play, the 300 new channels that will join its DTH platform are most of them educational and entertainment channels. These channels will also be in regional languages. It is claimed that users will not have to spend more money to see them.
