Zomato-owned quick commerce platform has launched a new app called Blinkit Bistro, designed to deliver food in just 10 minutes. Blinkit made the move to compete with rivals like Zepto Cafe and Swiggy Bolt.
How Bistro Works
Bistro operates similarly to its competitors. Prepared meals, snacks, and beverages are served to customers in kitchens located throughout the area. Currently, the app is in an experimental stage available only in Gurugram.
The app’s description on the Google Play Store says it’s for those looking for fast food options. It offers a wide variety of food including snacks, meals and drinks within just 10 minutes. “Whether you want a snack or a meal, Bistro delivers food straight to your door, fast,” the description reads.
Blinkite’s delivery network
Blinkite’s existing delivery network, which includes dark stores and its established logistics infrastructure, gives Bistro an edge over its competitors. The company’s aim is to delight customers with fast delivery.
The Bistro app became available on Google Play on December 6, 2024, but is not yet listed on the Apple iOS Store. El Bistro comes just a day after another quick-commerce company, Zepto, announced plans to launch a separate Zepto Cafe app to gain popularity in the fast-delivery food sector.
Bistro vs Zepto Cafe
Zepto Cafe will serve food from fully stocked stores, while Bistro will rely on cloud kitchens and optimized processes to meet its 10-minute delivery promise. Both Bistro and Zepto Cafe with Swiggy Bolt will carry quick bite products such as coffee, sandwiches, pastries, pizza and singara.
This is not Zomato’s first attempt at fast food delivery. Earlier, a service called Zomato Instant was launched, which was discontinued. However, with the help of Blinkit’s system, the process of providing instant food seems to be much easier.
