How will be possible
According to a recently published study in the Journal of Science, this Android-based system is as effective as the traditional national earthquake network. Researchers say that the acceleometers (which measure the vibration) on mobile phones are not too sensitive, but their number is so high that they can catch the smallest vibration.

In which technology does it work?
According to Google, this system detects vibration with the acceleometer sensor present on the smartphone. When many phones in an area feel at the same time, they send data to Google’s server. The server combines this data and decides whether the earthquake is taking place. If this is confirmed, a warning is immediately sent to all Android users present. Today, this system has become the world’s largest earthquake alert network, where more than two billion Android devices operate as a mini-aartart center.
