Asteroid Bennu Contains Water and Carbon: US space agency NASA’s spacecraft Osiris-Rex returned to Earth recently after a 7-year-old space visit. This spacecraft has brought with it a sample of asteroid called Bennu. Scientists investigating the sample of Bennu Estroid have received a lot of information in a particular room of NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, USA. NASA has revealed that the samples of the 4.5 billion year old Bennu Estroid are abundant water and carbon, which is an important material associated with the formation of our planet. This discovery offers evidence to the principle that the foundation of life on Earth was lying from the outer space.

According to NDTV report, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson Said The first analysis of Estroid has shown that the sample has abundant water. He said that it is the largest carbon -rich Estroid sample ever returned to Earth. It contains carbon in both minerals and organic molecules.

The Osiris-Rex Mission took rock and dust samples from Bennu Estroid in 2020. Spacecraft was returned to the earth two weeks ago, taking the samples into a capsule. They are being analyzed at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston.

The special thing is that before the Osiris-Rex Mission, Japan has also brought samples from space in the year 2010 and 2020. Although the Japanese mission brought a sample of only 5.4 grams, NASA’s mission collected 250 grams of sample.

Why was Benanu Estroid chose?

This Estroid revolves around the Sun every 1.2 years and reaches close to the Earth in almost every 6 years. This is large in the estrified size of 1614 feet size. According to NASA, in the year 2135, when this Estroid comes close to the Earth, its tragic will change slightly. It can affect the earth between 2175 and 2199. NASA feels that similar estateroids hit the earth billions of years ago and brought many more things along with water on our planet.
