Scientists were surprised at the death of elephants in Africa. But a special thing that was seen was that elephants used to go round round before dying. And then he used to fall on his mouth. After 2 months, similar symptoms were seen in 35 elephants in Zimbabwe. The Guardian According to, at that time these deaths were mentioned due to a cyanobacterial toxic element, about which nothing was written.
Then when elephants started dying in Zimbabwe in a similar way, it was seriously researched and found out that these deaths were caused by bacteria named Paschurela Bisgard 45 which causes poison in the blood. This bacteria was rare and did not know much about it. Initially the relationship of this bacteria was not linked to the death of elephants. The researchers then speculated that it is probably the same bacteria that led to the deaths of elephants in neighboring countries.
Research paper has been written by a team of international researchers including Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust and University of Surrey, including researchers from South Africa’s laboratory. Africa’s savanna elephants are moving towards the verge of extinction very fast, which are decreasing at the rate of 8% every year. The main reason for this has been said to be a poaching poaching. It is said that only 3,50,000 elephants are left in the forest area. And if any such bacterial infection continues to be vulnerable, then their number can be reduced rapidly.
