Big screen, powerful battery and powerful processor, A7000 have all the desires that should be in a smartphone. This phablet with a 5.5 -inch screen is a budget smartphone and besides it is the first phone in the world which has a Dolby ATMOS feature. Let’s know about A7000 and will it be able to compete with another phone in its price range.
Look and design
Looking at the Lenovo A7000, it seems that someone pulled the Lenovo A6000 from the edge and the new model appeared in the market. There are considerable similarities in the look of both models. A7000’s edge is rounded and its design is also quite useful. This phone with a thickness of 8mm weighs 140 grams. Probably A7000 with a 5.5 -inch screen is a great budget smartphone made keeping in mind your needs.
The entire phone is made of plastic but it does not look cheaper from anywhere. We found that this phone is sufficiently strong, that is, there will be less concern about rough use. There are volume rockers and power buttons on the right side of the phone. These buttons are made of metal and make good response. There is a 3.5mm audio port on the top edge of the phone and also a micro-USB port. The microphones are at the bottom. Capsitive buttons are under the screen, due to lack of backlit, they have trouble searching in the dark.
The earpiece, front camera and ambient light sensor are built above the screen. The primary camera and dual-LED flash with it remain on the top on the left side of the flash phone. The speaker is on the right side of the phone and while catching the phone it was out of our reach, so there is no possibility of blocking the voice. However, if the phone is placed on the strength of its back, the voice will definitely be slow. The rear cover is removable, below it is a battery, two micro-SIM card slots and a microSD card slot.
Specification and software
The A7000 uses 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752M SoC processor, which is the entry level version of MT6752. This SOC has integrated Mali-T760MP2 graphics. Lenovo has shown generosity in the case of RAM, the phone has 2 GB of RAM but internal storage is only 8 GB. Storage can be increased to 32 GB via microSD card, besides the phone also has support for USB OTG. Actually, you can charge other devices through USB OTG feature, this is a very effective feature for emergency.
The A7000 has an 8 megapixel camera, with it dual-LED flash. The phone also has a 5 megapixel front camera. A SIM card can also be run on 4G networks and the same can be done on the 2300mHz Fricks Band used in India. For connectivity, the phone also supports Wi-Fi A/B/G/N and Bluetooth 4.0. The battery has a capacity of 2,900mAh.
The phone has a 5.5 -inch IPS LCD screen resolution of 720p, with a pixel density 267ppi. The screen has a protection of Asahi’s dragonteral glass. The discursion level of the display is not very much and it is also crisp in appearance. Brightness and viewing Engels are not so bad either.
The phone works on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system with the Vibe UI 3.0 of Lenovo. This skin app does not use the drawer. It gives users a lot of customization option and is also a separate app for the theme that makes the process easier. Notification slider and multitasking card features are based on lollipop, just a change in it. Lenovo has added the option of Quick Settings. Apart from Lenovo’s Shareit and Syncit apps, more preloaded apps can be removed.
Performance and camera
A7000 is quite powerful and never saw it slowing while using. There was no problem in the use of multiple apps. The frames did not drop when the graphics based game Asphalt 8 was used.
The phone scored 30,159 and 14,714 in AnTuTu and Quadrant Benchmark Tests respectively. The phone scores on the graphics benchmarks tests such as 3DMark Ice Storm Extreme and GFXBench were 22fps and 5,990 points respectively. These figures show that A7000 is perfectly fit for gaming.
Although there was no problem in running all our samples videos on the phone, but we found that there was some strange problem in the sample with 40MBPS. The video with different resolution of the second format went well on the phone. We were very excited to use Dolby ATMOS on A7000, but regretted that this feature disappointed.
Dolby ATMOS on the phone is mainly an app, which can be used for sound handling according to the need. Whether it is to listen to music or watch a film. In fact, it looks like a softesticated equelizer app through which you can adjust the fruit level of the sound as per the need. We saw many content on the phone. During music, movies and gaming, regular stereo and Dolby ATMOS did not show any great difference that can be mentioned. The truth is that Dolby could not do its own lawstas demo on the phone. The sound at the maximum volume level was not very loud, whether it is about speakers or microphones. However, it is not so bad, the quality of the voice is quite good.
There was no problem during the phone. No call dropped and the quality of voice was also good. A6000’s battery life shocked us, then A7000 performed better than that. The 2900mAh battery of this phone lasted 10 hours and 58 minutes on the video loop test. It will last for about one and a half days during simple use, which is excellent.
The experience of using the A7000 camera app was fun for us. According to the budget phone, the 8 -megapixel camera of this device shoots rapidly but the pictures are average. The daylight samples taken by us were underxposed and some details were blurred. However, Colors were quite natural and did not have pixels throughout the resolution. The pictures taken in low light were of no use because these blurrs were seen due to lack of software. The best selfie can be taken from the front camera. Despite the autofocus function while making the video, the camera failed to maintain focus.
Our decision
Lenovo has adopted the right strategy according to the price range by keeping the price of A7000 at Rs 8,999. This phone is cheaper by Rs 1,000 from phones like Micromax’s Yu Yureka, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, Huawei Honor 4X and Infocus M330, which is a profitable deal for this. Lenovo A7000 is a great phone for gaming and common use.
Unfortunately, the multimedia features that were emphasized during its launch do not live up to expectations. This does not mean that Lenovo does not perform on A7000 multimedia. It is not just as excellent, as was being propagated. Overall, A7000 is a great phone and the price is its biggest feature.
