Moto E (Gen 2) 4G collision is from Lenovo A6000 Plus, Yu Yuphoria and Xiaomi Redmi 2, all these handsets have support to connect to LTE network. In this segment, how is the performance of this handset of Motorola, read further.
Look and design
This phone is similar to Moto E (Gen 2) and we just believe that it is the most beautiful looking smartphone in its price range. Metal has been used in the recently launched Yu Yuphoria build but the design of Moto E (Gen 2) 4G is very unique. The design and screen of the phone is similar to its 3G version.
Specifications and software
There is a lot of different in this category. Moto E (Gen 2) 4G has an Adreno 306 graphics with 1.2GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC. This quad-core Snapdragon used in non-LTE variants is more than 200 powerful. Moto E (Gen 2) 4G has 1 GB of RAM. Its internal storage is 8 GB, which can be increased to 32 GB via microSD card. Apart from this, micro-USB port can also be used as USB-TG storage devices.
A SIM card of this dual SIM phone can be done to connect to the 4G network, including the 2300MHz band used in India. There are features like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth Bluetooth 4.0 for connectivity. The phone has a 5 megapixel primary camera and a VGA camera in the front to take a selfie. The phone uses a 2390mAh battery.
Moto E (Gen 2) 4G almost runs on the vanilla version of Android 5.0.2 lollipop and gives the same feeling as Moto E (Gen 2), which is a good thing.
Performance and camera
Moto E (Gen 2) gives good performance, but Moto E (Gen 2) is 4G more fast and never stops. High-end games like ASPHALT 8 and Dead Trigger 2 also run without any interruption, although on low graphic settings.
The benchmark results were also much better. In the Antutu and GFXBench Tests, the phone got scores of 22,241 and 13,925 respectively. These figures are far better than the score of Yu Yuphoria and Lenovo A6000 Plus, although the QHD (540×960) display of Moto E (Gen 2) is less demanding than its competitions. In the 3DMark Ice Storm and GFXBench Test, Moto E (Gen 2) 4G scored 5,324 and 12.4fps respectively.
The phone did not have difficulty in running our sample video. There is enough sound from the speaker, but there was difficulty in using its earphones for a long time. We found that the sound quality was average during phone calls and calls many times. We do not expect this kind from Motorola’s smartphone. Apart from this, 4G connectivity was very irregular, maybe a bad network is behind it. In one case Moto E (Gen 2) 4G is much better than its rivals and its predecessor product, that is the battery life. In our video loop test, the phone battery lasted for 11 hours and 26 minutes.
The performance of the 5 megapixel camera of this handset is similar to the non-4G version. Overall, Motorola has not yet known how to make good cameras for cheap smartphones. The front camera is even worse.
Our decision
There is no doubt that Moto E (Gen 2) is much better than its predecessor phone in terms of 4G performance, as it is created keeping in mind the technology of the future. However, Lenovo A6000 Plus, Yu Yuphoria and Xiaomi Redmi 2 have 2 GB of RAM and these handsets also have a better camera. For this reason all these handsets give better value for money. However, Moto E (Gen 2) has no comparison of 4G software experience.
