Gionee S6 has no unique identity. But the truth is that this applies to almost all smartphones launched by Chinese companies recently. Gionee has used aluminum body in this smartphone and the phone looks beautiful in Rose Gold color. The phone is convenient to hold in hand and its button is designed in such a way that it can be operated well with one hand.
The handset has a 5.5 -inch HD (720×1280 pixels) resolution AMOLED display. Gorilla Glass 3 is for protection and the phone display can be seen in almost every type of light. The phone has non-backlight capacitive buttons for navigation at the bottom. The buttons on the edge also work well. The bottom is the Type-C USB charging point (USB 2.0 speed). The rear has a 13 -megapixel rear camera with LED flash. The front camera in the phone is 5 megapixels. The camera app will be equipped with night mode, panorama mode, burst mode, magic focus and many other features. Users will also be able to record videos in Full-HD resolution.
The Gionee S6 smartphone supports 4G dual SIM with VoLTE. The phone has a hybrid SIM tray which means that they will be able to use one of the other SIM and MicroSD cards. Non-removable battery of 3150 mAh will work to power this smartphone with a metal body. The company claims that it will give talk time of up to 18.8 hours and standby time of up to 342 hours.
The phone brings 10 watt variables, data cable, in-ear handsets, screen guards, silicone cases and usual warranty information booklets. The accessory of the phone is fine. The weight of the phone is also just 148 grams and a skinny jeans are quite slim to fit into the pocket.

It will run on the company’s Amigo 3.1 OS which is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. To make the smartphone strong, it has a 1.3 GHz 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT67538 processor and 3 GB RAM has been used. The smartphone will be available in gold and platinum color variants. The dimensions of the handset are 151.9×74.6×6.9 millimeters and weigh 147 grams. The Gionee S6 smartphone supports 4G dual SIM with VoLTE which you will be able to do with Reliance’s Jio platform in the coming time.
This smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with 3.1 emigo skin at the top. Gionee has also given options like AMI Note and AMI lock in this smartphone but these applications were not present in our review unit.
In this smartphone of Gionee, you can easily access your hidden pictures with an easy pinch in the gallery. You can also separate the OTG device by tapping the button given in the notification bar.
Performance
Despite the extensive skin, Android moves fast without any hindrance. 1.6 GB RAM is always available, multi-tasking and transition effects are very easy. Playing games and video plays the phone is a bit hot but never is so hot that it becomes uncomfortable. Voice call is also with good quality but does not experience so good during long calls with earpieces. VoLTE is one such feature Barley will also work with Reliance Jio Network.
Multimedia files can also be easily shared from Gionee S6 with easy video play back of 1080p. To boost the sound, you can enable DTS audio with the help of a stock video player. Audio quality is good with the headset, but the loud speaker is not much better on watching the movie in addition to the job.
The Gionee S6 has a 13 -megapixel autofocus rear camera and the front camera is 5 megapixels. The camera app will be equipped with night mode, panorama mode, burst mode, magic focus and many other features. Users will also be able to record videos in Full-HD resolution. The camera takes very good pictures in daylight. The picture can be captured by focusing the camera quickly. The HDR mode of the camera is slightly lower as it refused to take an HDR shot. The quality of photographs in low light did not look very good. But overall the quality of the camera can be said to be good.
GIF, barcode reader and professional mode can be shot in several mode with cameras. The front camera takes a good selfie in the indoor. We also liked the quality of recorded video.

battery life
In the Gionee S6 equipped with a 3150 mAh battery, we could watch the video for 12 hours 3 minutes, which can be called good. We were able to run the phone for one and a half days without charging on general use. However, Gionee does not claim fast charging in the phone, but its battery is charged from 0 to 35 percent in about half an hour with the phone’s 10 watt charger.
Our decision
The Gionee S6 is a great design smartphone that is better than Oppo’s R7 Lite smartphone. Its onboard storage is double, and FM Radio, VoLTE supports. But given its price, it could have more powerful processor and better display. But it seems that Gionee has fixed its price keeping in mind the design and texture.
VoLTE is the most special feature of the phone that you will not be able to use at the moment. But you will be able to take advantage of this feature by launching VoLTE service by Reliance’s 4G network or other network.
Gionee S6 is a good phone that gives you a great look with better hardware. But it does not have some features like NFC and fingerprint sensor which could make it more special.
