A new study has given shocking information about the moon. It turns out that the inner part of the moon is slowly cooling and shrinking. Because of this, earthquakes and faults on the moon are increasing. Some faults are being born near the South Pole of the Moon, where the Chandrayaan-3 mission of India made landing. The US space agency is also planning to launch the Artemis 3 mission in the same area. Will the projects of NASA and other space agencies get a setback due to the shrinking of the moon.

Recent Study Has been published in the Planetary Science Journal. The fund was arranged by NASA for the study. It is learned that the moon is constantly shrinking. In millions of years it has been smaller to 150 feet. Because of this, earthquakes are coming to the southern pole of the moon.

With the help of NASA’s lunar reconnis orbiter, LRO, thousands of small and new thrust faults have been reported on the lunar surface. Because of this, some of the earthquakes that are coming on the moon were also recorded by Apollo Passive Sesrymic Network. The network was placed on the moon by the passengers of the Apollo Space Mission about 50 years ago.

The biggest reason for shrinking the moon is being told for its construction. According to the report, the moon was formed by the collision of Estroid and comets. Due to this, the internal part of the moon became hot, which is now cooling. It is being said that as the moon gets cold, it will shrink more.

Although it will have a major impact on future moon missions, it would be wrong to say. The NASA or any other space agency has said that the moon’s shrinking and the earthquakes coming there would have any effect on the focus moon missions.
