Lenovo’s Zook was expected to start in China in April last year but its first product was launched in August. Before launching in India, Gadget 360 got a chance to spend some time with the new ‘Zook Lenovo Z 1’.
The Lenovo Z1 smartphone does not look like a recently launched device by Lenovo. Its design is completely new. The smartphone has a 5.5 inch display. The glass frame of the device looks larger than the glass on the next part. The rear panel of Zook Z1 is slightly curved, which makes the phone grip good.

The rear paner looks plastic but it is non-removable. There is no branding of the company on the next part, but there is a zook logo on the rear. It is worth noting that the Lenovo logo was not present anywhere in the sample unit we got.
Chamfard edge gives a good look to the handset and plastic antenna strip can be seen above the zook Z1. The volume and power buttons are on the right side which can be easily used with one hand. 3.5 Audio MM Jack is at the top while the speaker grill and USB Type-C charging port is downwards. Lenovo says that the phone supports 5 GBPS USB 3.0 transfer speed which means data is 10 times faster than USB 2.0.
Overall, the design of Zook Z1 is fantastic and the phone gives a good feeling. This smartphone with 175 grams can be said to be slightly heavier than OnePlus One (162 grams) with large screen size. The dimensions of Zook Zend 1 are 155.7×77.3×8.9 mm and it is convenient to catch.

The Lenovo Zook Z1 smartphone has a physical home button just below the screen with a fingerprint scanner integrated. The phone can be operated with one hand. We were told that the Zook Z1 could react quickly by identifying the fingerprint from any angle. But we could not investigate this in the limited time received with the device.
The Z1 smartphone has a 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor. Adreno is 330 for graphics. RAM is 3 GB. Zook Z1 has 64 GB storage but storage is not expandable. Another major feature of the Zook Z1 smartphone is its 4100 mAh battery. Dual sim smartphone supports Nano SIM and supports 4G in both SIMs. In India, it supports FDD band 3 (1800 MHz) and TDD band 40 (2300 mAh).
The biggest feature of Lenovo Zook Z1 is that the phone runs on Android -based Cyanogen OS 12.1. This means that the user will be able to get many options to customize their phone. With the help of theme app, users will also be able to change wallpaper, font, icon and boot animation. The Zook Z1 also has a pre-install app such as Audio FX to set the music of the music. Like the second convenience 12.1 device, Zook Z1 also comes with TruColor Integration. During the time we spent with Lenovo Zook Z1, we did not see any problem in multitasking and touch.

Talk about the camera, Lenovo Zook Z1 has a 13 -megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX 214 sensor. The camera comes with optical image stabilization (OIS). This feature is seen mostly in premium smartphones. The phone has an 8 megapixel front camera. We found it easy to use the camera app. In a limited time, the camera testing was good pictures in the daylight from Zook Z 1. Even in low light, the quality of photos was good and the pictures came with good details. But photographs taken from the front camera can be called average quality.
We would like to keep our decision on the overall performance of Zook Z1. We will tell our final decision only after the detailed review process.

Lenovo Zook Z1 was launched in China for 1,799 Chinese Yuan (about Rs 18,250). Therefore, we can expect that the phone will be launched at this price in India too. By the second week of May, the company will have to wait till the official launch.
As expected, this smartphone will be sold only online. With this price, it will be compared to OnePlus 2 and another phone with this price.
