The design of both the new smartphones is similar. These are equipped with fingerprint sensors and will come with full-metal body. Along with this, the company is also vigorously promoting the smart features S Power Planning and S Secure specially designed for India. We spent some time with the new Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime and Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime during the launch event. How did we like these smartphones at first glance? Let us tell you.
Before talking about the specifications of Galaxy J7 Prime and J5 Prime, let us tell you about S Power Planning and S Secure feature. These have been designed keeping the Indian customers in mind. The S Power Planning feature has been made a part of a handset for the first time. It seems that through this the company is trying to benefit the young customers.

There are three features present in S Power Planning. Reserve battery for phone calls: This feature reserves a portion of the battery for calls and messages. Three power saving levels are provided in Extend Battery Time. With the help of forward call, users will be able to forward all calls to a specified number in case the battery drains. With Extend Battery Time, the user will get double the battery life than the normal time. Samsung representative says that to do this, many background activities in the phone will stop. S power planning can prove to be useful in general use. Because we often forget to charge the phone due to being busy.

The second new feature is S Secure which is related to security and privacy. It comes with the option to lock and hide the app. We have also seen the Secure Folder feature in Galaxy Note 7.
Samsung has also provided S Bike Mode in both the smartphones. S Bike Mode was first launched with the Galaxy J3 (6). For user convenience, Samsung has placed S Power Planning, S Secure and S Bike Mode toggles in the quick settings panel.

The metal body of the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime and J5 Prime feels sturdy. Apart from this, both the phones also give the experience of being heavy in terms of their design. The weight of J7 Prime is 167 grams and that of J5 Prime is 143 grams. The front panel of both the phones is equipped with 2.5D round-edge Corning Gorilla Glass which gives it a premium look. The Home button is located between the Recents and Back capacitive buttons. Both phones have fingerprint scanners integrated into the home button. In both the phones, the power button is on the right side and the volume button is on the left side. The 3.5mm audio jack and Micro-USB charging port are present at the bottom of the phone. The company logo is present in the upper part of the display of both the phones. Due to the curved edges, we did not face any problem in holding these phones in our hands.

Apart from the LED flash and primary camera, nothing noteworthy has been provided on the rear part of the phone.
The Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy J5 Prime run Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Samsung’s TouchWiz skin on top. Both models will have select Microsoft apps pre-installed. If users want, they will be able to remove those apps. Dialer, contact, message, and browser icons will appear at the bottom of the display.

The Galaxy J7 Prime features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection. This handset has 3 GB RAM with 1.6 GHz octa-core processor. The screen looked bright and crisp. We did not face any problem in reading anything on the screen even in direct sunlight.
The Galaxy J5 Prime has a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is equipped with a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor with 2 GB RAM. The display of J5 Prime is vibrant and bright. According to us, the screen of J7 Prime is better. Both the phones support dual-SIM.
