Japanese scientists created a smiling face from living human skin. Smiling face can also be used as a robot face. This smiling face made of skin is attracting attention across the world. It can be affixed to the face of a humanoid robot. Apart from smile, other facial expressions can also be seen in this.

Researchers at Tokyo University have prepared it using a living tissue. Actually this tissue was prepared in the lab using human cells. According to BBC report, researchers have said that with this development, self-healing skin can also be invented in future which will not get cut or torn easily. Cell Reports Physical Science This study has been published in the journal named. This skin is very soft and can repair itself. It looks like real skin.

Apart from this, researchers also tried to create ligaments that connect the skin to the internal tissue. To use it in the robot, small holes were first made. After that a gel was applied on them which contained collagen. After that this skin was pasted on the face of the robot. This new product was quite flexible and the skin did not tear even when the robot moved the face here and there.

According to Professor Shoji Takeuchi, who led the research, this discovery has revealed a method by which skin can be easily connected with complex structures in the future. However, this new product is still in its initial phase. It still has to go through many types of tests which may take years. Only after that it can be used commercially.

Researchers say that this development can also be used to prevent skin aging in the future. That means it will prevent a person’s skin from aging quickly. Besides, it will prove useful in cosmetic and plastic surgery also.
