The incident happened just before the start of the much awaited 2025 IPL auction. Geocinema – the official streaming partner of the Indian Premier League, their broadcast has been disrupted due to a ‘technical error’ (technical glitch)! Because of which everyone from cricket lovers to ordinary viewers got angry.
The day was already announced. Everyone knew that the IPL auction will be held on November 24. Cricket lovers were eagerly waiting to know which player a team would buy for, which player would fetch the highest price, or who would sell for the lowest price, or which player no one would want to buy – all this!
But, technology is the first to erode that element of excitement. The audience and cricket lovers were so upset and angry about this that they took to various social media platforms.
Cricket fans and spectators protest on social media:
A social media user wrote on his X account, ‘Geocinema is broadcasting the IPL auction program in a disgusting way. Now read the news and get the auction news.’
Another netizen addressed Geocinema and wrote, ‘Tell me which crappy server you use? Your app is the worst… horrible… even with 150 mbps wifi your app won’t run!’
‘This is exactly what happens on Geocinema every time the IPL auction is on,’ wrote one frustrated cricket fan.
Many people expressed concern and wanted to know if everyone is having trouble watching the broadcast, or if it’s only happening to them!
As someone posted on the X handle asking, ‘Brothers, are you all doing geocinema well? Or is it only me that is having problems?’
Another net user wrote about the issue, ‘Worst service ever by Geocinema!!! Something went wrong. On my smart tv it shows an error (8039) message. Did you not understand, exactly how many visitors are going to be present this time? What is the benefit of being the most expensive board?’
That is – all in all, cricket lovers are very disappointed and angry with the organization and management of Geocinema owned by Ambani group, it has been proved from all these virtual comments.
