In its monthly report, the platform said that WhatsApp banned the accounts of 8 million Indians in August. In this situation, WhatsApp Ban has taken this step to ensure the safety of users and prevent abuse. The company has started identifying suspicious accounts primarily through the use of machine learning and data analytics (WhatsApp Rule). Through this, the security of this platform will be ensured, said WhatsApp.

According to the report of WhatsApp, in the month of August 2024, WhatsApp (WhatsApp Ban) closed the accounts of a total of 84.58 lakh Indians. Of these, 16 lakh 61 thousand accounts were closed without any complaint. This step has been taken in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2021. All WhatsApp accounts that have violated IT policy or are involved in any unethical or illegal activities are banned completely. WhatsApp does not condone any illegal activity, WhatsApp takes action against any suspicious activity. Such steps are taken every year and suspicious accounts are identified and closed. WhatsApp often takes various measures to increase security and safety.

It is known that WhatsApp Ban has closed 16.61 lakh accounts in India this October. This platform’s automated system bans suspicious activity very easily. The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has formulated some rules related to information technology in 2021. Under this rule, all social media with more than 50 lakh users will have to send monthly reports. This report will mention the complaints of the users and the action taken based on those complaints.
