Airtel jio vi bsnl: BSNL in India has now launched their ESIM service following Airtel, Jio and VI (Vodafone Idea). Currently, this feature is available in some of the selected circles. An ESIM works just like a physical SIM, but it is digitally in your phone. Many premium smartphones such as iPhone, Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy S series support ESIM.
What is the reason for switching to ESIM?
No need to move ESIM again and again.
It does not break or damages it.
However, keep in mind that if you delete ESIM from the phone by mistake, the network connection will be immediately disconnected.
How to get ESIM?
The method of each telecom company is a bit different.
Jio Users: You can request from the MyJio app or go to the nearest Jio store.
Airtel and VI Users: You can apply through the official app of the company. Alternatively, send a sms to 121 or 199, depending on your network, the message format: esim.
BSNL Users: Apply at your nearest Customer Service Center. You need to complete the KYC process, which requires Aadhaar card.
What is the activation process?
Follow these steps after submitting the request:
The QR code of ESIM will be sent to your registered email.
Then open Settings → Mobile Network/Cellular/SIM services.
Now select “Add ESIM” or “Download ESIM” option.
Next, scan the QR code obtained via the email.
Now you will get a verification call that will complete the process.
The whole process may take up to 4 hours.
Final Steps and Protection
Once ESIM is activated, your actual SIM network will be automatically disconnected and you can now use all services through ESIM. According to the Trai rules, the first 24 hours after activation you cannot send or accept SMS. This rule has been implemented to prevent SIM swap fraud.
