Ott Apps Ban: In order to take strict action against showing illegal and obscene content, the central government has ordered all Internet service provider to stop access to the common people for 20 OTT platforms. These OTT apps include the popular OTTs like Ulu, ALTT, Desflix.

A notification issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of India emphasizes that intermediaries are responsible for removing and disabling illegal information in accordance with the Information Technology Act 20 and the Information Technology Act Rule (mediatory Rules, Digital Media Ethics Code) 2021. The rules clearly state that the aim of this move is to prevent the promotion of the contents of the sexual and Indian legal and cultural standards.
