The trophy of 2023 ODI World Cup has been launched in space. The ICC i.e. International Cricket Council sent the trophy into space in a balloon with the help of US private space agency ‘St. Intu Space’. The Cricket World Cup trophy was launched by taking about 1 lakh 20 thousand feet (36.576 km) from the surface of the earth. That place is called a stratosphere.

The ICC has also shared the video of the trophy launch on Twitter. It states that where the trophy was launched in space, the temperature was 65 degrees Celsius below zero. The trophy was later landed at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It is worth noting that the ODI World Cup will be played in India. For the first time, the ODI World Cup is being held completely in India.

The trophy that was launched in space will now be on a world tour and will complete its journey of 18 countries from today. Stratosphere is the second layer of our Earth’s atmosphere. It has toposphere and mesosphere below. This is not the first time that things related to a tournament have been taken into space.
